Kyal & Kara's Blue Lagoon Build
The scope for Kyal and Kara’s Blue Lagoon build was simple; create the perfect modern Australian coastal home.
With this vision captured in it’s crisp white cladding, crafted timber elements and lush garden oasis’, the passion and considered approach taken to this project truly sets it apart.
Kyal and Kara were critical in the building process, controlling all elements of the build to bring this cohesive project to life. The husband and wife team are widely renowned for their ability to create defining spaces and homes, adding personality and value through their hands-on approach.
The Impact of Shape
For this project shape informed key aesthetics and design elements, while adding functional impact and rationalising available space. Curves and arches are a consistent theme, delivering a seamless flow throughout the project, offering fluidity and connection between the spaces.
Bankston’s Brunswick lever on oval backplate reflects this theme, adding consistency in approach to all elements of the project.

Texture & Contrast
Texture and contrast play a significant role in the Blue Lagoon build, giving spaces a lived-in comfort while celebrating the raw beauty and tactile nature of Australian timber. This celebration of texture and contrast can be seen throughout the project in material and decor choices, offsetting the coastal whites of the project.
The knurled finish of the Brunswick made it the perfect choice for this project, the textured handle engaging the user at every touch point.
