New Plymouth House - by EMA Architects

EMA Architects New Plymouth House sits firmly anchored on New Zealand’s rugged Western coastline. It was vital for the clients that the architecture of the house capture and reflect the surrounding landscape: the extensive ocean and New Plymouth landmarks, like Mount Taranaki. The exterior is bold, inhabiting a masculine aura, yet the interior is inviting and warm.

Considered Elements

EMA’s Evelyn McNamara wanted to create an uncomplicated and calming space with carefully considered integrations and an abundance of storage, a reflection of her finely tuned design aesthetic.

The finely detailed Brunswick door lever is a perfect complement to the New Plymouth home. The Brunswick’s rounded form parallels the soft interior spaces, while its distinctive diamond knurling adds detailed texture reflecting the masculine energy of the home.

Distinctive Quality

Forged from solid brass, the Brunswick offers a highly functional and beautiful piece of hardware, and one that evokes New Plymouth’s stunning natural surroundings.

The Bronzed Brass finish harmonises with the wooden details and refined, natural palette, yet is subtle enough not to interrupt the minimalist aesthetic of the home.
